When Can I Apply for Admission?

You are urged to apply as early as possible. If applying after the initial filing period, consult Þiaget’s Admission Office for current information or email us at: admin@piagetcoe.edu.ng

1. Collect the following materials for completing the application:

  • Your high school and/or college transcripts;
  • Three letters of recommendation; (2) from your previous teachers and (1) from a personal reference
  • Pay the application fee of N5,000 (bank teller, money order, or credit card when applying electronically)

2. Complete the Application and:

  • Bring in your application or apply online at www.piaget.edu.ng. Your completed application and submission payment will be loaded automatically to our database.

3. If you wish to apply for the Þiaget Internship Teacher Preparation Program (PITPP), complete section G and take ALL proficiency tests to qualify.

  • One goal of our program is to make meaningful connections between classroom fieldwork and the NCE coursework. Internship programs allow individuals to complete their teacher preparation fieldwork concurrently with their academic years of coursework in a paid teaching position.

4. If you are admitted, arrange to take the English Placement Tests (EPT) and the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam as soon as possible unless you are exempt.

  • Þiaget placement tests (EPT and ELM), should be taken on a test date after Admission. For general information on placement tests and test dates, contact Þiaget placement test information desk.

5. How can I be exempt from the Þiaget placement tests?

  • English Placement Test (EPT) The English Placement Test (EPT) assesses the level of reading and writing skills of students entering the Þiaget College of Education The Þiaget EPT must be completed by all non¬-exempt students prior to enrollment in any course.Exemptions from the EPT are granted only to those who present proof of:
    • A score of “Exempt” or “Ready for college-level English courses” on the Þiaget Early Assessment
    • Program (EAP) Standard Test including a score of credit or above on the English section of the WAEC/NECO/SSCE/TC II/CAMBRIDGE.
  • Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) ExaminationThe Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) Examination is designed to assess and measure the level of mathematics skills acquired through three years of rigorous senior secondary mathematics coursework of students entering the Þiaget College of Education.
  • Exemptions from the ELM are granted only to those who present proof of one of the following:
    • A score of “Exempt” or “Ready for college-level English courses” on the Þiaget Early Assessment
    • Program (EAP) Standard Test including a score of credit or above on the English section of the WAEC/NECO/SSCE/TC II/CAMBRIDGE.

6. For Pre-NCE admission the placement test can be taken after your course but before entry into the NCE.

7. How do I find out if I am admitted to ÞIAGET?

  • You will receive an application acknowledgment from Þiaget.
    Read it carefully and follow any instructions about when to send in documents or when to take placement tests. Application acknowledgement may come in the form of an email or letter. Make sure Þiaget has the correct and valid email address and/or mailing address on file.You should respond to college requirements and deadline on statement to register or to enroll or accept admission offer. Make sure that you do not miss the deadline.

8. What happens if my first-choice major is full?

  • If your first-choice school is unable to accommodate you after the initial filing period, it may be possible to “reroute” your application to another major school major that is “open.”
